Lumina-Set – Bone defect filler

Bone grafts

Lumina-Set is a bone filler based on hemihydrated calcium sulfate, biocompatible and fast-setting. It acts as a resorbable barrier, filler, or binder for graft particles, providing stability and hemostasis to the surgical site. Its resorption occurs within 40 to 60 days, promoting predictable and safe bone regeneration. Indicated for bone filling surgeries, apicoectomy, endo-perio lesions, and associated grafting procedures.

ANVISA REG. No.: 80522420003

Lumina-Set acts as an adjunct in bone regeneration and repair in medical and dental procedures. It is indicated in clinical applications as a bone defect filler in orthopedic and/or dental bone repair procedures where tissue regeneration is required due to anomalies and/or bone tissue loss. In dentistry, it is used in treatments for covering and protecting bone defect sites, protecting exposed root furcations, alveolar filling in avulsions, extractions, and root resections, periodontal intra-bony lesions, periapical lesions, filling of bone cavities, minor volume corrections for esthetic purposes, minor corrections resulting from periodontal and peri-implant bone fenestration or dehiscence, biomechanical barrier in guided tissue regeneration processes, and as an aid in the integration of periodontal tissue components.
In medicine, it is used in corrective treatment of bone defects resulting from sequelae of traffic accidents, gunshot wounds, trauma in high-risk sports, replacement of bone loss or stimulation of bone formation, bone tissue grafting, resection of musculoskeletal tumors, revision arthroplasty, treatment of pseudoarthrosis, and craniofacial surgery.
Moreover, as a bioabsorbable product, it has two main purposes in the bone and tissue regeneration process: to cover the defect volume, preventing soft tissue invagination into the defect until local new bone formation occurs, and to serve as a donor source of calcium for the metabolic and tissue regeneration process, acting with osteoconductive properties.
Lumina-set is also indicated as a resorbable physical barrier applied over the bone defect or as a stabilizer and binder for microparticles of a bone graft, enhancing bone regeneration.
